Come and spend some time in our lovely bed and breakfast near the small village of La Brûlatte. You will be assured of a warm welcome to our comfortable and spacious rooms at La Croix, excellently placed for touring this beautiful region. The house is about 15 minutes from Laval and very easy to find, close to a motorway and on a national route (no winding gravel roads for you to negotiate at the end of a long journey), then straight out en route the next day, to explore all that the Loire, Normandy and Brittany can offer. Paris is two hours from here, Le Mans an hour, Rennes 40 minutes.Breakfast is in our kitchen diner, furnished with Breton style country furniture. Evening meals can be taken either here or in the traditional dining room, or on the pool terrace.
We have two double rooms, one triple room (1 double bed and 1 single bed) and two family rooms with more beds and cots if required. Each room has been freshly decorated with co-ordinating bed linen, bedside tables and lamps. Three of the rooms have their own bathroom, whilst the triple room and one family room share the main bathroom (bath, shower cubicle and three washbasins) and a separate toilet. These rooms are usually let to a party travelling together.
There is good fishing at the large lake in Port-Brillet (3 miles) and a Grand Randonnée (national rambling route) through La Brûlatte to La Gravelle. The forests in between the villages are populated with deer, wild boar, rabbits and foxes. The lanes abound with many wild flowers; violets, primroses, buttercups, hawksbill geraniums, harebells.
The Loire Valley is rich in châteaux and cathedrals. Every village has a beautiful church (especially at Le Pertre). Laval and Rennes are great cities for shopping. Le Mans is famous for its motor sports (at least one event per month throughout the year). Fougères and Ernée both have lovely medieval centres. Something for everyone!
The Normandy Landing beaches, Mont St Michel, the rugged pink granite coast of northern Brittany or Vannes on the south coast are within reasonable driving distance using either country lanes, national roads or the fast motorways. What about a day or two in the fast lane of Le Mans or shopping in Paris? The train station is only 3 miles away in Port-Brillet.

Le Clos De Ligre is an elegant residence dating from 1852 in a quiet village 6 km south of Chinon, with large sunny gardens, swimming pool, courtyard and private parking. This former gentleman farmer's house is now a comfortable Guest House, full of character, originality and happy surprises. The five attractive, comfortable bedrooms, each with its own individual style, have been renovated with elegant simplicity blending traditional charm and contemporary chic: terracotta-sponged walls, creamy beams and colourful modern fabrics with original tiled floors and stone fireplaces. Traditional French family dinners with local wines are served in the family dining room next to the open fireplace in winter, and in the garden in the shade of the old lime tree in summer.
The quiet, peaceful atmosphere make it a perfect refuge for world-weary travellers. It is an ideal base from which to visit the Abbey of Fontevraud (where the Plantagenets are buried), the chateaux of Chinon, Azay le Rideau, Villandry, Saumur and Langeais, and the vineyards of Chinon and Saumur. After many years living in Paris and travelling around the world, Martine moved to the country to combine her love of the area and her love of entertaining. Artistic and anglophile, she takes great care of her guests, ensuring that they have a relaxed and unforgettable stay in Ligre.

Venerable stones in the remote thyme-wafted air of a hillside village: an apparently modest old house unfolds into a place of grandeur with a vast flourish of a dining hall, a tower, a pigeon loft and well-travelled, fascinating hosts who are a fine mix of shyness, extroversion and humour. The courtyard is wisteria-clad, the garden sheltered, the food superb. Two rooms on the 17th-century lower level charm with their simple ancientness, the canopy bed lies in splendour below serried beams; they overflow with character if not with hanging space. There are two lovely terraces.

In addition to the bed and breakfast accommodation at our residence we also have four gîtes available. Our residence, which dates back well over a 100 years, is set in the middle of Olonzac, and adjacent to the municipal park, which once was part of this house! The 3-storey mansion was originally built by a wealthy wine producer, Eloi Merle, and we have found many original records, bottles and photos of the Merle family, some of which are on display around the house. The enchanting and relaxing grounds are part of the wonderful experience of Eloi Merle.

Le Petit Moulin is a superb 100 year-old Charentais maison. It is situated in the centre of the delightful village of Saint Georges du Bois and is surrounded by the beautiful vineyard countryside of the Charente. The village dates back to 1307 when the crown property lands and castle of Poleon were exchanged by King Phillippe-Auguste for the Rochefort lands and castle. The village is essentially an agricultural and wine growing commune classed under the "Bois" appellation, with six distilleries used to produce an excellent brandy.
With its unique microclimate, this beautiful area is the second sunniest in the whole of France.

Alet les Bains is a beautiful medieval village on the banks of the river Aude. Our house is a "listed" stone house - one of whose walls forms part of the 12th century town battlements. Having been lovingly renovated, retaining features such as the 18th century doors and floors enhance the strong character of this family home. The position of the house allows the front door to open directly into the village, whilst behind the house the dining room opens onto the terrace and large garden, looking onto the hills beyond. The guest rooms are located on the first floor and all have private bath/shower rooms. All linen and towels are supplied and each room has a kettle to enable hot drinks to be made at any time. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and is served in our dining room overlooking the terrace and garden. Other meals can be taken in one of Alet's restaurants or in one of a dozen or so within a 10km radius of Alet. Alternatively, clients can bring in their own ready prepared meals to be eaten in the dining room or on the terrace.

Rue Maitre-Albertâ is a traditional ancient street in the old Paris with its high ceiling appartments, numerous bookshops, antiques, craftmen and restaurants.
Our building dates from the 18th century and is located in the heart of Paris, in the Latin Quarter, on the left bank. We are at few steps from the islands on the Seine (Notre-Dame) and within a walking distance from Boulevard Saint Germain, La Sorbonne, Cluny Museum, la Sainte Chapelle. Transport facilities (metro, buses just 3 minutes walk away) make our home an ideal base from which to visit Paris!
You will receive a warm welcome from Mrs Chatignoux who loves Paris and knows the best ways to discover the city... either walking or by bicycle. English Spanish and Italian spoken.

Our home dates from 1592 and we have kept, where possible, its original architecture of exposed beams, wafer bricks, stone window surrounds and rough-plastered walls. The small salon is very cosy with its log-burning open fire-place.
The bedrooms give onto the garden at the back of the house, they are spacious, quiet and comfortable. Our garden is not overlooked and it has several terraces where you may relax in the sun or perhaps you could be tempted into a visit to the "trinquet" with Alex and Gilbert who will take great pleasure in showing you the intricacies of one of the Basque racquet games, la pelote !!

No 9 Rue des Barrieres is in the small town of Saint Savinien sur Charente. This region is famous to many as it has a micro climate with warm summers and mild winters - one reason we have moved here from the North-East of England. Built around 1850 from the local limestone the house encloses the pretty paved courtyard, with the main house backing on to the road. As a holiday destination it has much to offer. We are in comfortable reach of the Atlantic coast, Royan with a ferry across to the vineyards of the Medoc, Rochefort with its naval history and present construction of an 18C frigate, and the delights of La Rochelle.

This beautiful country house constructed from the stone of a 15th century barn originally on the site, is situated half way between St Junien in the south and Bellac in the north. Limoges airport is only 45 mins away and served by Ryanair and Flybe from several airports in the UK (transfers can be arranged).
Although the house on three sides overlooks open country, you will only have to walk 100m to get to the Auberge ( bar and restaurant), the award winning boulangerie (baker), Pharmacie or chemist and just a further 100m will get you to the well stocked small supermarket.

Welcome to Hotel L'Enclos, located in Perigord, just 5 hours south west of Paris.L?â??Enclos is the former estate of Count Souffron that we have completely restored. It once included over 1000 hectares of land and now consists of 2 hectares enclosed by 250 year old stone walls. The village chapel and bread oven are still on the property.
The courtyard is especially dramatic with the main house on one side and extensive granges opposite. These buildings all possess the classic steep Perigordian roofs. The interior of the courtyard is terraced and landscaped with hundreds of roses, plants, and evergreens. We are surrounded by farmland and also a protected forest with many walking trails. We have 6 cottages on our property which are situated in various outbuildings (granges). All the buildings are over 250 years old, and the cottages have been fully restored. They are decorated in a very pleasing country manner mixing antiques with locally-made reed furniture and colorful Provencal fabrics. We are open from May 1st to October 1st and we speak English, Spanish, French and Italian.
