La Maison des pins is an English family run bed and breakfast, set in a large typical French mansion, in the small sleepy village of Villegailhenc, which is ideally located just 5 minutes from the historical medieval "Cite" of Carcassonne, and 10 minutes from the airport. We are situated in the beautiful Languedoc Rousillon countryside which is an ideal location for all types of outdoor
pursuits. Surrounded by a landscape bathed in Mediterranean sun and scented by wild herbs such as Tyme and Rosemary. We are well located for wine tasting, local vineyards comprise of Carbardes, Minervois, Corbieres and the sparkling white vines of blanquete de Limoux.You will find it easy to relax in this hospitable southern climate, savouring local specialities where you will notice
that the time passes just that bit more slowly. At the Maison des pins your stay is important to us, we have designed our bedrooms to provide maximum comfort and relaxation. Tea, coffee, biscuits, toiletries, flannels and towels are provided in your rooms and there is daily room service. All our rooms have been beautifully restored and all have ensuite bathrooms, one bedroom has an adjoining children's room.

Description of The Gite:
Sleeps 6, 3 bedrooms
Our Gite is packed with character, set in beautiful gardens, with swimming pool. The Gite has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, two beautiful double bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and floor boards one with an ensuite bathroom, and one bedroom with bunk beds. Barbecue, ping-pong, darts, petanque, childrens play area, sand pit, wood burner in lounge and electric heating.
The gite will be 300 euros from Jan to April per week. 450 Euros from May to June and 580 for July and August, and then back again to 450 for Sept and Oct and then 300 euros for November and December (excluding Christmas and New Year). This also includes all bedding and no towels. Breakfast is available at 6.00 euros extra per person, and welcome hamper can be provided at cost. A free bottle of wine is included in the price. Cots are free.

There is a pretty garden to relax in with mature trees and both a large and small swimming pool, which is ideal for babies and small children. There is a bar-be-que area, ping-pong, darts, petanque and a children's sandpit. In the village there is a restaurant, butchers, bakers, small supermarket, 2 hairdressers, local market on a Wednesday and a dentist. A bus service twice daily into Carcassonne. La Maison de pins is situated in the department of Aude, well known as Cathar country. Steeped in history,this area offers exceptional scenery and boasts an enormous array of leisure activities. It is easy to discover on foot or by car the dramatic varied landscapes such as
the majestic Pyrenees, southern rolling hills, spectacular gauges, rocky outcrops to the popular seaside resorts of the Mediterranean just 30 minutes away. Local walks from the village are superb.
